What mix/edit of Kelly Rowland's "Work" track was used on Radio 1's floor-fillers on Friday? (7th Dec 6 -7pm) It's fast, and the vocals are faster than the original version, i've only heard it played on that show, and only the once. You would have to have heard that particular show to know the one i mean. I've searched the radio one site extensively already, to no avail. If you know the answer, i shall worship you for all of time! I've searched the radio one site extensively already, to no avail. If you know the answer, i shall worship you for all of time! (I listened to it via the website, but that didn't help me to identify the edit unfortunatly. But i didn't think of emailing the show really, thanks kitti =)
I need a wood filler for my hardwood floor, anyone got any recommendations? I need to fill some cracks in my 120 yr old hardwood floor that I am refinishing. I also have to patch a few spots with new wood. I just want something that will fill good, and stain with the wood. Should I just use the Wal-mart "Elmers" or the more expensive stuff I've seen in some hardware stores?
Tune that's a guaranteed floor filler? If your DJ-ing or putting together a mix tape, what do you use as a sure fire floor filler? Opps,,, I should check a little more carefully what category yahoo has selected for me. But if anyone out there in the boating community wants to make a recommendation...
stainable filler for oak wood floor? I have an older house and intend to remove the carpet and linoleum, and restore the oak floor underneath. The problem is that over the years there have been imperfections like nailholes and minor separation between a few boards. What kind of filler can I use to fix these inperfections that will stain to match the oak? Thank you in advance for your help.
What would happen if I install wood flooring on a not straight floor? My floor is not very flat I have high spots and low spots and wonder how this will affect the new wood floor. The new floor is 3/4 oak and is about 2 - 1/4 wide. I expect gaps but heard that you can use subfloor glue where the floor is uneven and fill teh gaps with wood filler. Any tips would be appreciated, thanks.
Can anyone recommend any good deep funk compilations/mixes? I don't mean full of the slow mellow groove, lounge bar type stuff. But the James Brown "get on and let it loose" type floor fillers. Contant high pace tempo beats that you just want to dance too. Can be any genre like afro/latino, Soul, deep house 60's 70's etc. Would greatly appreciate any pearls of wisdom.. Disco too!
How do I prevent my lightweight cotton rug from sliding on a hardwood floor? I have a thin, lightweight, 3x5 rug in my room. The floor is hardwood floor (but unwaxed). It is kind of like an "area-filler", so my room doesn't look so empty, therefore I don't want to put anything on top of it to anchor it down. Simply walking over it causes it to slip & slide and move around. What can I do to hold it in place? Do they sell anything for things like this? Thank you!
How will staining an old wood floor affect the dog pee stains all over it? can I clearcoat? The hardwood is a honey color, and I like it. The roomies want a dark stain, but I was concerned about how the stain would take considering the floor is 30 years old, and now has tackstrip holes (know of any wood filler that will absorb the stain, also?) and a ton of old discolored dog pee stains and other imperfections. I don't want to bleach the rest of the floor, but I haven't sanded yet, either, so we'll see how well they come up. Also, the floor doesn't really "meet" the wall, and there is marble tile that surrounds the floor that is at least a half inch higher. I don't wanna remove the tile, so are there any good solutions to a way to make that look better?
What do I use to repair cracks on the floor along a concrete wall? Hello, We are repairing the floor in our older (1966) gymnasium. The walls are concrete block and the floor is concrete with 9" (assumed asbestos) tile. The floor around the edge of the wall is cracking due to expansion and contraction. We are going to put base molding down, but want to fill in those cracks before putting down the molding. What is best to use to fill in the cracks? I know using a concrete filler will just crack again...any advice is appreciated. Thanks, Steve
How do I patch an old wooden pine floor...? I mean it really is in good condition except for a couple of small areas that I think if there's a filler on the market, that would work. I have already sanded the floor and am getting ready to varnish it once these areas are fixed. They are too small to even think about cutting out and replacing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Can I install laminate flooring on uneven floor myself? Just leased a commercial property, about 3100 sq ft, and the carpet looks horrible. We want to install laminate hardwood, but the labor charges are outrageous! We want to do it ourselves, but wondering if we can do so because there is one part of the property (very small section close to front door) that has a pretty uneven floor - about a couple inches off. How do we go about doing this? Do we need a filler or something? Thanks so much!
Can i ceramic or vinyl tile on top of floor filler? looking for temp fix.? Found 1920's original tiny hex tile under 70's linoleum. Except there is NO tile by the tub area. They used floor filler or some kind of filler to even out the floor in order to install the laminate. So right now bathroom floor basically is fully tiled except by tub area that has that wood filler around it. Can I install decorative border tile on top of the filler area. I know it won't match, be the same level or look the best but we are on a budget and rather cover that filler area around the tub just for a few months-less than a year before we demo the entire bathroom. We want to have the bathroom in a decent condition for a few months. can i tile on top of floor filler even if floor will not be even? Repairing hairline cracks in Ceramic Floor Tile-Any Gurus out there? Are there any miracle compounds or fillers that can mask out hairline cracks in ceramic tile? I really dont want to bust out tile that only has minor cracks. The tile does not rock or creek so I think its worth a shot in doing some cosmetic repair. ANY ideas appreciated!!!
How do I fix this kitchen floor? Here's the background info: So, just moved into a place where there was originally carpet down in the kitchen. (yuck). The landlord said the previous people put it there because the floor was ugly and boy, were they ever right. Whoever put the vinyl tiles in didn't do it well because it's not underneath the appliances. (probably a previous tenant). I wanted to possibly put down new vinyl on the existing flooring because I just need something to look good, and last the time that we live there. So, the actual questions... 1) Should I just use Armstrong embossing leveler and put down new tiles that way? Ripping up the old plywood underlayer may be a pain because I don't know when it was put in or if there is asbestos? 2) Right in the entrance there is a huge gap missing in the plywood/tile (probably previous people tried to rip it up and screwed it up. Is there a filler to fill probably a 3" by 4" (jagged shaped) piece of 1/4" plywood in order to prep the floor for new tile? After these first 5 responses, I plan on doing this: Taking a 1-2 inch wide piece of underlying 1/4" plywood, extending the kitchen floor by this amount in order to buy patch and seal "cement" to seal up the hole on the outer edge of the current floor. Then, using some embossing leveler, smooth out the current tile so new tile won't get distorted and will adhere well. Then taking the new tile, misaligned from the old by an inch or so, put down new tile. Any steps I'm missing?
History of wood floors: Filler used between planks? I've posted about our floors before--our house was built in 1897 and has the original wood floors (underneath carpeting, vinyl, etc.). I've torn out the carpet and padding in one room, and our plans to lay down a high-end vinyl went awry due to some expensive car trouble and unexpected vet bills. So, I'm painting the floor, but first I'm removing the old "filler" between the planks and replacing it with caulk. What I want to know is--what IS this stuff? When I scrape it out, it seems almost like paper (very lightweight, crumbly). And whatever it is, how was it applied? I wouldn't bother, as some of it has maintained its seal with the wood well, but shrinkage has caused cracks and separations, and because of my pets, I really need a surface I can clean the heck out of.
Preparing concrete slab for floating floor installation? I have a slab foundation that I would like prep for a floating floor. There are two opening in the room to attached rooms. The foundations of the two rooms are not level with each other. Previous owner tried to fill in and slope down with concrete filler for transition between surfaces, but left a very rough and uneven transition. Can I sand or grind the the openings for smoother transition....with what? Will that work when preping for floating floor style flooring?
Remove deep scratches from hardwood floor? I have some deep long scratches on my three year old hardwood oak floor mostly from past furniture moving. I already tried light sanding/ filler but it's still very noticeable. I was thinking of buying or renting a random orbital sander from Home Depot and attempt to remove all of those deep scratches with 36/50/80/100 grit and then polyurethane it. Should this do the job?
Have you had any experience with Tarkett Fiber Floor or any other loose lay vinyl? I'm getting Tarkett Fiber Floor installed and different installers are telling me different things. I'm afraid if I loose lay it with no glue it will be bound when I install the trim and transition strips. And I'm afraid of it tearing. I'm afraid if I glue it then the embossing of the old floor will show through even with a skim coat embossing filler. What do you think?
Damged wood floor..Used wood filler, sanded, and stained. Wood filler is sligtly darker brown..HELP!? I midly damaged my wood floor at my old place. My bed post gouged out a 1/4 inch wide probably 1/8th inch deep gash in serveral spots. I haved used a wood filer, and sanded it down. Then applied stain that is the same color. However the wood filler is a shade or 2 browner than the wood stain. And you can easily tell where the filler is. I dont want to buy white wood filler. What about some dry wall spackle? I was thinking of digging out the filler, and putting dry wall putty down, sanding it, then staining it.. the white should asborb the stain, right...sorta like white wood filler?. Its a rental and I just want to pass the inspection, I understand drywall putty wouldnt last as long as filler... But I want to get by on the cheap! Thanks alot
How to remove wood filler stain from floor when varnished? I spent two days sanding the floors in my house then bought some good Ronseal wood filler (medium oak) and Ronseal extra durable expensive varnish (medium oak). So i went around the floor filling in holes and even nail holes just in my living room. Then by hand I sanded the wood filler stains soon realising that i couldnt get rid of the actual stain! Anyway I thought it will be ok because the varnish should stain over the filler and it was the same colour after all...Anyway to my horror after two coats of expensive varnish I could still see light orange patches all over my floor! I'm now devastated and could really do with some advice? Should i put another layer of varnish on it? Someone said i should just get clear varnish and paint a layer on? please help! I've only varnished my living room up to now thank god
Can you get filler and / or varnish for laminate flooring? Hello. I've laid down some laminate flooring (the glueless floating type) and realised I've made slightly the wrong decision - it's a bit too light coloured. So I wondered - can you get varnish specifically for laminate flooring in order to darken it a bit? I would imagine you cannot use normal varnish due to the coating of it (or can you?). Also, I'm a bit crap at D.I.Y. and have not laid it too well in parts (I got the hang of it eventually) and now that I'm alright at it, the cracks in my first rows are really annoying me. However, I'm not gonna pull the whole thing up again, so I wondered, is there a filler you can use to fill the cracks? I'm assuming you can't use normal filler, due to the fact it's on the floor and people walk on it etc. Or can I? If anyone knows the products I'm looking for please name the products! As I have already done searches on DIY websites and come up with nothin... PS I'm in the UK Thanks for your help in advance!
